Pirates of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Yay, I’m finally free to blog after my exams. There are so much that I’ve already missed out and needs some catching up! Great news to know that one of my favourite movie series has arrived in SG –
The Pirates of the Caribbean is baaaaaaack!! In this third installment, Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) sets out on a tumultuous journey in search of the Fountain of Youth. But in order to reach his destination, he must face zombies, mermaids and Captain Blackbeard.

I love the theme of pirates and all, and I’ve been an avid fan of Pirates of the Caribbean for years so I’m looking forward to this movie that’s going to be out next Thursday!
Disney has set up a Facebook page as a prelude to the movie and I had tons of fun with activities. Besides weekly giveaways for gala premiere tickets and special gifts, they also have three games available to play.

There’s still chance to win those prizes, you just need to jump on board the Queen Anne’s Revenge by answering the posed question to stand a chance!

The questions are not that easy, but a little research will do the trick. 😀

The first of two games I played was Battle Galleons, by challenging an opponent ‘at sea’ and attack them using your ship’s cannons.

Pick a character to captain your ship! I chose Captain Barbossa coz’ I love Geoffrey Rush.

Then, choose where to place your ship: Left, Right, Centre.
Following that, choose where to fire your cannons: Left, Right, Centre.
Repeat the above two steps for round 2.

And you’re ready to bust some ships!
Round 1: I lost. 😦

But I made some progress in subsequent rounds and my enemy, Blackbeard, lost!

I prefer the second game I played though, Pirate yourself, just because I can manipulate the picture of my face to mask my features.
It’s easy as ABC, upload a photo and add whatever linglinglonglongs you want on it, like a “photoshop” effect.

You can pick from a variation of headgear, facial hair, make-up and other accessories. All in good fun! Here’s my final look:

I have uploaded onto my wall and my friends approve of my look. He is Sparrow’s new sidekick called Morass Triangle. Kickass name. 😀

Anyway, don’t forgot to view some of the exclusive video clips at the Facebook page too.

There’re even wallpapers and avatars available for downloads.

Of course, I chose Captain Jack Sparrow to be on my desktop. Hehe.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is another one of Jerry Bruckheimer’s great works! Just found out that he’s also the genius behind the CSI Teenage Criminal. Awesome.
Catch Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides movie starting from 19th May 2011 and join the official Disney Studios Singapore Facebook & Twitter page!
